The GAA Auction in Greensboro, NC is a favorite of mine as it is only a few miles from my home. This auction of over 700 vehicles has quite an impressive gathering of fifty Corvettes of which 14 were RED!
Dean Green hosted another outstanding GAA Auction with a display of 750 vehicles including 50 Corvettes, of which 14 were Red.
Top sales of the auction went to a 2006 Ford GT with 5.9 miles in Heritage paint. It found a new home at $700,000.
This auction can be termed a ‘buyer’s auction’ with numerous vehicles selling below the $50,000 mark. At the other end of the spectrum were 24 vehicles that sold at or over the $100,000 threshold, one was a 1963 Ford Falcon Sport Convertible that was previously owned by Jimmy Buffett. After active bidding, this special car sold for $235,000.
The Corvettes at the auction covered all generations C1-C8. Top Sale for a Corvette at the auction was one of the C8 models, a 2023 70th Anniversary ZO6 convertible with 27 miles that sold at $167,000. Close behind at the number two position was a 1965 Coupe Resto Mod with a LS3 engine that found a new home for $150,000.
In total fifty Corvettes were consigned to the auction with 74% selling to the highest bid offered. The sale prices for the Vettes started at $6,000 (a Silver 1979 T, automatic, A/C) and went from there up to $167,000.
